Ela completed her PhD in the laboratory of Yinon Ben-Neriah, at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she studied the deregulation of Wnt and p53 signaling pathways in colorectal cancer development. Currently, she is a postdoctoral fellow at the laboratory of David Tuveson, studying pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), with a focus on the crosstalk pathways between neoplastic cells and their tumor microenvironment. Her main goal is to uncover the signaling cascade and mechanism of action of CTGF, a stromal-derived protein that interacts with many extra-cellular proteins, and was suggested to contribute to therapy resistance in PDAC patients.
