Astrid has an academic background in both computer science and engineering. She has had several professional experiences in various environments such as research centers and private companies. All those assignments have it common that they are related to research and development. She has cumulated more than 10 years of experience as a computational analyst, and she has had the opportunity to work in various fields such as plant genomics, epigenetic inheritance, and cancer. Since joining the Tuveson Laboratory, she has been collaborating with biologists to conduct rigorous computational analyses in order to achieve a better understanding of pancreatic cancer mechanisms. She is particularly interested in the development of novel bioinformatics methods and software for the organoid platform.
